Hello loves! This was such a fun project & I can’t wait to share with you all the details! Seriously if you haven’t considered doing this yourself instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a new table & chairs set, I ask, what are you waiting for??
We needed a kitchen table update bad. Once we moved the tall rectangular kitchen set just didn’t work with our space anymore. With so much wood from the cabinets to wood floor, it was too much dark. Juuust ignore any dirt you might see on the floor in my pics…ya know…#momlife.
Honestly, I probably wouldn’t have thought to do this….but a girl I know reached out to me & asked me to redo her table & chair set. It turned out SO great that I knew I HAD to do this for ourselves! Check out her SHABBY CHIC INSPIRED KITCHEN TABLE FLIP.
I sold our old set on Swap Shop & I began my search for an older style pedestal table that came with leaves to have the option to make it bigger for family get-togethers. I scoured swap shops on Facebook, Craigslist, & ended up with one from my local thrift store for $45. I also found a few cane back chairs for $5 apiece. It wasn’t a complete set but if you didn’t know, mismatched chairs are totally in right now! I found the other 2 wooden chairs at a booth at some craft show. Check out some of my other furniture makeovers such as my CHALK PAINT DESK HERE.
If you are interested in reading all the details about HOW I did all this, including pics during the process & stain & paint colors, etc. then stay tuned for my next post on HOW TO PAINT FURNITURE: A BEGINNER’S GUIDE. If you don’t want to miss that, then SUBSCRIBE to my mailing list so you never miss a post! I’m working on a tutorial on how to reupholster chairs, so check back soon for that! After some serious elbow grease, stain, paint, & new fabric….here are the after pics!
I love how it opens up the space & lightens it up more! Before I had so much wood on wood. I just love the pops of turquoise it gives the space! This table has 2 leaves so it’s perfect for entertaining. I just love the idea of customizing your table to your space by giving it a different coat of paint, stain, or replacing fabric! And the best part is that it saves you SO much money than buying from a store!
Some people love to DIY, some don’t. Some like the look of it but don’t want to do it themselves. Hmmmm.. I just happen to love to DIY so you’re in luck! If you are local, email me about a project & I can work with you on giving you a quote! If you like this type of a table or similar, I see them for sale ALL the time!
