It’s been a hot hot week here in KC in the mid to upper 90’s which means lots of water & pool time for us lately. Whether it’s the water park, the blow up pool in the yard, or the water table, we’ve been taking advantage! This past weekend was full of plenty of fun in the sun, a little exercise, some zucchini bread, & a finished bedroom photo gallery wall!

Saturday I received a package I’ve been so super excited for! I have been working on a photo gallery wall for our bedroom & my pics that I ordered thru MPix arrived on my doorstep, unexpectedly early. That afternoon we played in the water out on our deck to stay cool until nap time. I was pretty excited for nap time so I could put my pictures up on the wall. Well Emmy decided she just didn’t need a nap that day. After I failed miserably to get her to nap & died a little inside because I was so eager to complete my project, hubby decided to try. At least that bought me some time to get my gallery wall completed! Then he failed…& after several fits & tears later…well let’s just say it was a really long day….& it ended with a competitive game of Rumikub against my husband & a Peach A-Rita or 2… man are we wild or whaaaat?!
When we fell into bed that night exhausted, I was in awe of our new photo gallery wall! I had a big empty wall that looked awfully bare & lonely so I decided to show it some much needed love & do a wall of photos from some of our favorite pics & memories. I LOVE personal stuff. Stuff that you can’t buy, stuff that you make like my picture window that has meaning & character so I did not want a wall full of posed professional photos. It was important to me that most of them were just regular snapshots of everyday life that was captured. I edited the snapshots just a touch using the app Afterlight & adjusting the saturation so they weren’t so vibrant & colorful since I was going for more soft look, & ordered them thru MPix. I got the gold frames at Ikea. I am super happy with MPix & how FAST they were & the quality was perfect, so I def recommend. The wooden arrow I already had & it came from Target. It felt SOO weird placing stuff off center or really high or low. I don’t know about you, but I’m diggin it.
Today we met some friends at the water park. My thoughts were…. water park=exhausted child=good nap. We couldn’t have asked for a better day out. Upper 80’s, just perfect. And yes, Emmy zonked out as soon as we got home. (insert evil laugh) What a great summer day!
I seriously can’t stop staring at my wall. They are some of the sweetest memories to me that I will forever cherish & I get to look at them everyday. I’m SO happy I did this! Do you have a special way of sharing your memories? I’d love to see it!
