Hey everyone!
It’s been a little while since I posted because we have been super busy here at home, not only with the baby but with the house. For the past few years we have talked about it (over and over again) but we FINALLY decided to put the house up for sale! (insert happy dance!) The timing was never quite right before and now with the baby and it being a seller’s market it is time.
We have a unique floor plan being that we are in a tri-level home. So yes that means 3 different levels. 3 levels….with a baby… so if you ever wonder why i have so many bouncers and swings etc its because I got tired of dragging them to a different level of the house all the time!! So before our little munchkin can crawl we are ready to get into a house with a different floor plan that works better for us as a family.
We started at the first of May getting the house ready to be sold. That in itself has been difficult as there were SO many things going on in May with graduations, birthday parties, baby showers, etc. So it’s taken a little longer than we hoped (we were shooting for the 1st of June) but we hope to have it on the market next week! Plus have you ever tried getting a house sell ready with a baby??
During this process I’ve learned a few things:
- Simple things as getting a brand new vanity can really spruce up your bathroom!
- Always keep a record of your paint colors you used on your walls.
- Don’t own cats….
- Shag carpet is never a good idea.
- Wipe down all your baseboards on a regular basis.
- Doors and door handles get really dirty…for white door Magic Eraser is your friend!
- Make sure you really want to hang things where you are thinking because filling in a million holes because you’ve changed your mind sucks and your walls pay for it
- Clorex wet wipes are the bomb.
- Always seal your paint cans! (my bad…my hubby wasn’t very happy with me about this one) 🙁 Also clean your brushes properly… those 2 things will save you $$
- Get rid of crap you don’t use/need/want!! We have WAY too much stuff….we’ve packed away tons of stuff and I couldn’t even tell you what they are so we probably don’t even need it.
I’m sure I could keep adding to the list but that’s what sticks out right now, especially #10…I mean WHY was I toting around boxes of notes from college from place to place for years that I will NEVER use? And those old Teen BOP magazines with posters of Andrew Keegan, Mike Vitar and Leonardo DiCaprio??! I’ll keep the Leo ones at least thank you very much.
Now the big question is WHERE we are going to move to??? We still don’t have the answer to that question. Hubby wants to be closer to work which is understandable since he has a 45-60 drive fighting rush hour traffic Mon-Fri BUT that puts us farther away from family…. ugh decisions decisions…. Any advice? Closer to work or closer to family or somewhere in between?
Wish us luck!
Xo,
Lesley
