Hey guys!
I just love the excitement and anticipation of getting pics back and when I got an email notification last night with my pics from Brandi Wisdom I couldn’t WAIT to open it!
I am so excited about these pics! I REALLY wanted to do our engagement pics in the snow but the timing was never right. It is so hard to schedule a photo shoot around snow! Luckily my friend who is a photographer lives in a neighborhood close to me so when it snowed a few weeks ago, we were on it! Luckily my husband can work from home with some notice so when the forecast called for snow he was able to work from home while we played it by ear that day to go out at the perfect time. We kept waiting and waiting and finally about 2:45 pm the snow really started to come down so we made plans to meet at 3 pm at a park just less than 10 mins from home.
We set out for the park and had to get on I-435 just for a few miles and already I couldn’t believe there were vehicles in the ditches! I was starting to get worried it was a bad idea but we made it to the park ok. Since the snow was coming down and the wind was blowing, it was freezing!! Doing a shoot in the snow isn’t the most ideal because it’s so cold you can’t really take your time. We blazed through our shoot in less than 15 minutes! Luckily it wasn’t my first shoot so I know how to move around pretty good and make things happen fast! Poor Brandi, she was such a trooper for doing this for us and I was so appreciative for her to make it work in the snow! We drove straight home because the roads were getting pretty bad and stayed in the rest of the day. That was the day they shut down part of an interstate and there were so many accidents out. I’m so thankful we were able to get out and back home safely.
Being that we zipped through the shoot so fast I was worried about how the pics turned out but I think for the time we had and for how cold it was I am pretty happy with them! I have also found that a lot of our impromptu shots are the best, the ones where we are just laughing and being ourselves and not posed. So playing in the snow and laughing made for some cute ones. Big thanks to Brandi for doing this for us!
I hope you all enjoy them! What do you all think, which one is your favorite??
